“Quando pensiamo a cosa sono Le piume di Morris, ci chiediamo come si possa sussurrare in un microfono facendo gridare una canzone. O come sia possibile trasformare in musica un atmosfera che non appena la afferri è già fuggita. O come si faccia a parlare della nostra voglia di cercare una verità diversa, tra Tv spazzatura, androidi che decidono al nostro posto, lavoratori sottopagati e tutorial che consigliano agli uomini come truccarsi per andare a sciare. Sì, quando pensiamo a cosa sono Le piume di Morris vediamo la drammatica realtà: noi, che abbiamo raccontato tante storie e vorremmo raccontarne tante altre, non sappiamo raccontare noi stessi. Siamo forse il polline, che vola tra accordi di chitarra, corni che soffiano, gente che balla, casalinghe tra specchi infranti, astronauti. Entreremo in un casa per salvarla dal fuoco? Ruberemo il mattino dal cuore della notte? Riusciremo a far tacere le mosche dentro la testa e a difendere il giardino? Ci serve arte per respirare, ci servono emozioni che siano cavalli sciolti. Il Mistero ci attrae oltre ogni altra cosa. Ed è bellissimo l’attimo in cui, finalmente, smettiamo di controllare le email vuote.” Le Piume di Morris, nate da un lungo percorso nel mondo del teatro e della performing art, sono formate da Cordelia Stagno e Lucia Falco (coppia non solo sul palco, ma anche nella vita privata). Influenzate da avanguardie come il situazionismo, il dadaismo e l'espressionismo, e con un bagaglio di passioni musicali che spaziano tra la musica classica, lirica, industriale, elettronica e rock, Le Piume di Morris stanno lavorando per creare un sound unico, portando sul palco abissi sottomarini, viaggi spaziali, drammi e commedie quotidiane. "Non abbiamo studiato niente a tavolino, abbiamo semplicemente seguito le nostre visioni, per far emergere una nuova poetica." La loro musica, un mix di art rock, dark cabaret e influenze elettroniche, coniuga raffinatezza retrò e spirito punk per esplorare temi quali la crisi dell'essere umano nell'era tecnologica, l'amore, l'epica silenziosa della lotta quotidiana e la ricerca di un altrove, in una tensione costante tra attualità e mito.

"When we think about what Le Piume di Morris are, we wonder how we can whisper into a microphone and shout out a song. Or how it is possible to transform into music an atmosphere that as soon as you grasp it has already escaped. Or how we talk about our desire to search for a different truth, between junk TV, androids who decide in our place, underpaid workers and web tutorials that advise men what is the best makeup to go skiing. Yes, when we think about what are Le Piume di Morris we see the dramatic reality: we, who have told so many stories and would like to tell so many others, do not know how to tell ourselves. We are perhaps the pollen, flying between guitar chords, horns blowing, dancing people, housewives among broken mirrors, astronauts. Shall we enter a house to save it from fire? Shall we steal the morning from the night? Will we be able to silence the flies inside our head and defend the garden? We need art to breathe, we need emotions that are like wilde horses. The Mystery attracts us beyond anything else. And it’s great the moment when we finally stop checking empty emails." Le Piume di Morris, born from a long journey in the world of theatre and performing art, are formed by Cordelia Stagno and Lucia Falco (couple not only on stage but also in private life). Influenced by avant-gardes such as situationism, dadaism and expressionism, and with a wealth of musical passions ranging from classical, lyrical, industrial, electronic and rock music, Morris' Feathers are working to create a unique sound, Bringing underwater depths, space travel, dramas and everyday comedies onto the stage. " We did not study anything on the table, we simply followed our visions, to bring out a new poetics." Their music, a mix of art rock, dark cabaret and electronic influences, combines retro sophistication and punk spirit to explore themes such as the crisis of the human being in the technological era, love, the silent epic of daily struggle and the search for a different life dimension, in a constant tension between actuality and myth.

Cordelia Stagno è l'identità performativa del songwriter, producer e performer Marcello Serafino. Avatar incarnato, alter-ego en femme, creatura pessoana? Cordelia è il mistero che presta alle parole una faccia, alla musica un corpo e al movimento un respiro. "Ho iniziato a praticare il crossdressing da ragazzo, e questa attitudine è diventata una chiave preziosa in senso artistico. Cordelia è il Joker, io sono Bruce Wayne e in mezzo c'è Batman, che fa il cameriere. Adoro il Joker interpretato da Heath Ledger: forse il personaggio più pericolosamente libero che abbia visto in un'opera di finzione. E quindi, non chiamatemi drag-queen, sono un agente del caos".
Cordelia Stagno is the performative identity of the songwriter, producer and performer Marcello Serafino. Woman-avatar, alter ego en femme, Pessoan creature? Cordelia is the mystery that lends words a face, music a body and movement a breath. "I started to practice crossdressing as a boy, and now is a precious key in artistic sense. Cordelia is the Joker, I am Bruce Wayne and in between there is Batman, who serves. I love the Joker played by Heath Ledger: perhaps the most dangerously free character I have seen in a fiction play. And so, don’t call me drag queen, I’m an agent of chaos.
Lucia Falco

Lucia Falco è attrice, performer, drammaturga e regista di Teatro e Opera Lirica. Nelle Piume di Morris ricopre il ruolo di performer, voce poetica e strumentista speciale. Durante i live, Lucia è il pifferaio che apre i cancelli delle canzoni, per invitare il pubblico in giardini segreti. "Adoro lavorare con il materiale umano, entrare in contatto con altri universi creativi e scoprire luoghi segreti, intimi, fatti di suoni, immagini, poesia. Amo lavorare sul corpo, sulla sua qualità, sulle sue possibilità, e sulla voce. E poi amo la musica, e nella musica cerco il senso nascosto: delle cose, e di me stessa."
Lucia Falco is an actress, performer and director of Teatro e Opera Lirica. Nelle Piume di Morris plays the role of performer, poetic voice and special instrumentalist. During the live, Lucia is the piper who opens the doors of the songs, to invite the public into secret gardens. "I love working with human material, getting in touch with other creative universes and discovering secret places, intimate, made of sounds, images, poetry. I love working on the body, its quality, its possibilities, and its voice. And then I love music, and in music I look for the hidden meaning: of things, and of myself."
